Kozik Cramps Poster

Great Frank Kozik poster for The Cramps / Dash Rip Rock, at Houston, TX - The Vatican (1994)

Are We Not George?

Here's a slick little photo of George Burns in front of a DEVO  1st LP ad after he shopped at Tower one fine day in 1978. [Thanks to Devlin Thompson for the cool pic!

Dark Shadows Poster

This is a promotional poster for the Philadelphia Gum's Dark Shadows Gum Cards 1st series in 1968. Rare indeed!

Mutual Of Omaha?

A cool little coloring book from my collection Wild Kingdom coloring book. Everybody old enough remembers this show! The sponsor, Mutual Of Omaha had Marlin Perkins do lead-ins to the commercials for The big insurance company. Are they in business these days?

Cosmic Cookie

Here's a shot of Fallen Angel, Kevin Sullivan, and The Lock during the heyday of the "Satanic" cult-leader action in Florida in the early 1980s. Sullivan says in spite of never mentioning The Devil, people totally believed it. He said he was a"catholic, former alter boy" and he'd never be in a satanic cult in real life. It must've been interesting trying to buy groceries back then....

Zacherley Will Not Die!

A great photo of Zacherley from early in his creepy career. RIP

Forry & Moona

Forrest J.Ackerman and L.A. horror host(-ess) Moona Lisa from the late 1960s...

Creature Feature Box

It's the display box for Creature Feature gum cards (AKA You'll Die Laughing) by Topps in 1973. What is remarkable about this series is that Topps took some liberties with the photos, and inserted the faces of Topps employees, family, and friends on some of the cards! A person not that familiar with the classic movies might have not even noticed! Strange...

Fright Factory

The ultimate Thingmaker set! I will never forget the smell of Plastigoop cooking in the Thingmaker. I always had a soft spot for Mattel Toys (1967)

Famous Monsters Ad

A wholesaler's ad for Famous Monsters Of Filmland. I believe this was after FM was already out, not a pre-production ad.

Assorted Creeps

Here's an amazing item from the 1960s. Monsters, Ghouls, And Assorted Creeps Stationary Pad. For 59 cents? Oooh Yeah! There were several different designs in the pad, the London After Midnight Lon Chaney is just an example. I'd love to run across one, or a case of them...

Spooky Paint

Yep, back around 1964 Aurora packaged up paint to be used on their Monster model kits.  The box art is just gorgeous. Even if the paint cans were missing, I'd still love to have one of these. I am pretty sure this was James Bama art here..

Casper And Fiend..

Casper seems a bit out of place next to the lady vampire in this photo...

Watch It, Sucker!

Lawanda Page self defense for women. A real ad? Maybe. A

Undertakers?

The Embalmers.

That is indeed Percy Pringle, AKA Paul Bearer on the left of this spooky wrestling photo..

Batman And Monsters Again!

Here is Monster World #10. I never saw it in 1966, as I don't know if I had gotten my first comic book yet, but when I got a little older, I ordered it from Captain Company, (via Famous Monsters) along with Monster World #2, with The Munsters on the cover. What heady days

Batman And Monsters!

Castle Of Frankenstein #9. The Batman craze of 1966 - 1967 was big, and even Monster magazines got in on the bat-fad! Cesar Romero as The Joker adorns the cover of this one.
Even Warren magazines had some Batman stuff, notably Monster World #10, so I will dig that one up later...

Bela Meets Glenn

A tasty photo from Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948). Bela Lugosi as Dracula opens a package containing Glenn Strange as The Frankenstein Monster. Only the 2nd time Lugosi played Dracula on screen.

Dracula Meets View-Master

Here's the Dracula set of View-Master from 1975. I had the Frankenstein companion set. They were actually models Ala The Rankin-Bass movies / TV shows.  Mad Monster Party comes to mind. Neat

A real product from 1982.

This was by far my most popular post over on the late lamented tumblr Crypt. Close to 100,000 likes, re-blogs, and comments.

Monster Initials Puzzle

Here is an image of the completed puzzle from the backs of the Monster Initial Stickers set (Topps, 1973) Very suitable for framing!

Groovie Goolies Candy Boxes

I loved these Candy & Prizes boxes you used to get. Add the Groovie Goolies to the deal, and I had to have 'em! It's the same old story, "I wish I still had them!" These would have been 1970, or 1971.

Space Ghost Model Sheet (1966)

Here is Alex Toth's model sheet for Hanna-Barbera's Space Ghost. I never got why the ghost never wore boots. It's no big deal, but it was...different. Great show. This was H-B at their best. (CBS, 1966)

Aurora Custom

The two Customizing Monster Kits from Aurora. The vulture and mad dog set is rare indeed.. (1964)

Dawn Of The Dead Game (1978)

My friend Kenny used to have one of these babies, and it was cool. I haven't seen one since.  If any of you, my gentle, and attractive readers have one for sale, we here at The Crypt would like to know!

Milton Puzzle

One of the few pieces of Milton The Monster merchandise is this neat Whitman Jigsaw puzzle. For some reason Professor Weirdo is in the same class as Milton despite the fact that he was able to create Milton out of chemicals, and a mold! Also, well he IS a professor....

Themes From Horror Movies...

I recall the great cover of this LP from the Captain Company ads in the back of Famous Monsters Of Filmland, and other Warren magazines. A few years ago, a friend gave me a copy of this on CD. Very good stuff. By Dick Jacobs and his Orchestra.

Pedro / Partridge!

I found this photo of Danny Bonaduce meeting then WWWF champion Pedro Morales. I think it's neat due to the genuine look of awe on the face of Danny B.. It would've been about 1973..

Monster Lunchbox

The ever-cool Universal Monsters lunchbox w/ Thermos. C.1964. I really love the rendering of Dracula on the Thermos...

Bruce Lee Was Back!

Bruce Lee Fights Back From The Grave (1976)  I won't pretend I have seen this, but I love the poster! Apparently monsters are involved as well. How they talked the corpse of Bruce Lee into this, I'll never know.

Batman: 1940s Serials

Batman was the 1st appearance of The caped Crusader on film. It starred Lewis Wilson as Batman, and Douglas Croft as Robin. 15 chapters from Columbia Pictures (1943).
Batman And Robin was the 1949 sequel to Batman. This time out Batman was played by Robert Lowery, and Robin was Johnny Duncan. It was the usual 15 chapters. I thought the Batman costume in this one was especially bad-looking. I guess they lost the originals and the designs as well. Despite that, I enjoyed the serial. Sadly I don't own the first...

Airbrushed Art

This is some neat airbrush work that I found on a Spook House at the local county fair. I thought the Ingrid Pitt was very well done indeed. I wish we had gone in looking back...

Munster Parade

Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis in full make-up are cruising down the street in the 1964 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! The Munster Koach is driven by none other than the builder himself, George Barris. The pretty young lady wheels the sign promoting the CBS show. What a great image..

Addams Gum Card Puzzle

Here is the image you'd get when you had the all the gum cards needed to complete it. Nice. The ABC logo is an interesting twist. (Donruss, 1964)

Goolie Puzzle

Here's a beautiful Groovie Goolies jigsaw puzzle by Fairchild from 1970. "Wolfie's Weird World Of Sports" There just wasn't enough Groovie Goolie merch available, doggone it!

Inner Sanctum Ad

A great ad from the great days of radio! Inner Sanctum Mysteries, one of the best of the Horror shows, featuring "The Creaking Door", a sound effect that was the shows trademark. It had a Crypt keeper-like host who did morbid humor before, and after the dramatic story... Boris Karloff - 'nuff said!

Dark Shadows #6

My favorite cover of the series! Barnabas menaces David from the old house window.  Dark Shadows #6, August 1970

Aurora Monster Scenes Comic

When you bought a Monster Scenes Kit from Aurora in 1971, you got this neat mini-comic with art by Nefarious Neal Adams. Not a bad deal!
