Ironside Van

An MPC model kit of TV's Ironside's van. None other than George Barris built this Ford van for the TV series. I know what you're asking. Did the wheelchair come with the kit? I wish I knew. (c. 1973)

Spooky Paint

Yep, back around 1964 Aurora packaged up paint to be used on their Monster model kits.  The box art is just gorgeous. Even if the paint cans were missing, I'd still love to have one of these. I am pretty sure this was James Bama art here..

Munster Parade

Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis in full make-up are cruising down the street in the 1964 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! The Munster Koach is driven by none other than the builder himself, George Barris. The pretty young lady wheels the sign promoting the CBS show. What a great image..

When you bought a Monster Scenes Kit from Aurora in 1971, you got this neat mini-comic with art by Nefarious Neal Adams. Not a bad deal!

Deluxe Batmobile Ad

The Ultimate Batmobile model kit. K&B Manufacturing made this metal Batmobile for Aurora in 1966. I have never heard of this kit until now, so it has to be rare indeed! I would guess the hefty price tag doomed this superb kit into obscurity.. Man, what a sweet model kit.. [via greatgrottu / fumblr]

Aurora Meets Marvel

Here are the 3 Marvel Comics kits from Aurora. They were released in 1966. The Hulk and Spider-Man box art was done by Neal Adams. I don't believe Captain America was a Neal Adams box. Also, on Cap's box, the Aurora logo is smaller and colored differently than the other two. It seems odd..

Dragon Wagon

I'd be remiss if I didn't feature my favorite model car ever, Tom Daniel's Dragon Wagon. I am told that there is a repro kit, the same model, but called Circus Wagon. I may yet live to get another shot a building one! Monogram, baby!

Aurora Meets Dark Shadows!

What a great addition this would have made to the 1969 Aurora Monster Scenes line of model kits!  Alas, it is a fan-made / fantasy display box The art is from the Gold Key Dark Shadows comic books. Via The Collinsport Historical Society.
