Black Stamps

Ad for a theatre give-away from a Hammer movies twin-bill of The Gorgon, and Curse Of The Mummy's Tomb. (1964)

Larry Brent

Larry Brent # 107 is I am assuming, a German Comic book. Even if not, this cover is so cool that it's hard to care!

Sexy Sue!

Jack Kirby renders a very sexy Sue Storm pin-up... I think it's from one of the early Fantastic Four Annuals / Specials. Obviously before our Sue married Reed Richards. I imagine it would be hard to win her away when you consider all of those nutty stretching talents he has...

Bela Meets Vampira!

These photos are from the June 5th, 1954 Red Skelton Show. Bela is hard at work in his lab when Vampira stops by for a bite!

Addams Family Game

Ideal's 1964 Addams Family board game. I love the design of this game. The game board is suitable for framing alone! I wish I had one!

Munsters Syringe!

Here's a rare one from 1964. Hasbro's The Munsters Hypo-Squirt. A Munsters themed water gun in the shape of a rig! This sold on eBay for just under $2,500! Cool & weird toy, but Wow!

Wolf Patrol

This is one of the many plaques you could get at novelty stores and elsewhere in the 1960s. There were stickers/ decals of these designs as well...

X-ray Vision For Sale.

Here's a lesser seen comic book ad for the classic X-Ray Specs this from Honor House. I love the almost maniacal look on the girl in the foreground..... [via boysandghouls podcast]

Hanna-Barbera Heroes!

What a cool illustration of the best Hanna-Barbera super heroes of the 1960s!  Yes, The Fantastic Four are technically Marvel, but why spoil the party? Man, do I ever wish Boomerang still showed these gems...

The Convict!

Here's a promo / ad for a wrestler called "The Convict", who had successful runs in different territories in the late 1960s - early 1970s, including Los Angeles, and Japan. The convict turned out to be Stan "Plowboy" Frasier, who wrestled as Uncle Elmer, one of the Hillbillies in the mid 1980s WWF.  Just another example of what Vince McMahon Jr. thinks Southerners are like.

Muppets - 1963

This is a cool ad in one of the trades for Jim Henson and his Muppets. Who knew they were around in 1963?

Dressed To Kill Photo

Found a unused photo of Kiss when they were shooting the cover photo for the Dressed To Kill album in 1979, in NYC. It looks like the other citizens are dumbfounded.

Batgirl: ABC-TV

Here's a great promotional photo of Yvonne Craig as Batgirl. Maybe part of a press kit, or the 1966 TV Guide Fall Preview issue. Vintage photo of a great Gal..

This Is Weird.

The Rifleman # 10, (Dell, 1962) You know it had to be a rib on someone, but who? I wonder if the kid (Actor Johnny Crawford) had a clue of what was afoot? The facial expressions say much I think. This is a real comic book folks.

Nazi Vampires!

Weird War Tales is a DC title that I am going to start looking for. At least this one (#90, 1979) Great Joe Kubert cover to boot....

Freakout!

"For the adult reader". I'm guessing this wasn't exactly a scholarly work. Nude hippie cuties seems more likely in this "world of the kooky new generation".

Official Wrestling Guide #1

This 1972 magazine is very interesting. It became one of the very best because it covered a lot of territories beside New York, and California. You gotta love the headlines, and the best is "In Defense Of Beautiful Bobby: "He's Not Queer!" Very in-your-face stuff.

Space Kidettes Puzzle

A scarce example of merch for The Space Kidettes. I think this was an underrated  Saturday morning show from Hanna-Barbera. Good stories and very little "cuteness". It aired on NBC-TV from 1966 - 67.

Aurora Promo Posters

Here are two examples of The Holy Grail of Aurora collectors. Promotional  in-store posters for retailers. Beautiful stuff, colorful and cool. Probably 1964 - 65.

Masks Ad

Classic ad from Captain Company via Famous Monsters Of Filmland (1964 - 65). The Munsters masks were tempting back then I am sure!

Crime Mysteries #12

"Chilling Tales Of Crime and Terror" I guess they wanted to reap the sales of the crime AND horror craze, but this was published in 1954, and the two trends were on their last legs, and censorship of both subjects were already in the mail..

Flair, But Not Ric.

Here's a pack of Flair pens from 1975. Prized items for us creative types! The package art alone is great!

Mrs. Slydes!

The classic image of Mrs. Slydes from House On Haunted Hill (1959) One of William Castle's best!

Don Martin Tarzan

A Mad Magazine pin-up: Tarzan Of The Apes by Don Martin. Mad used to be great.

Batman Give-A-Show

What an incredibly cool toy! The Batman Give-A-Show Bat-Projector! This was from The U.K., by Chad Valley licensed by Kenner. Why Kenner didn't release this in the states I'll never know. I'm a sucker for the Kenner projectors anyway, but with Batman in the mix, I would've died to get this as a kid! When they started putting photos of the toys on the box instead of artwork like this, toys were less desirable I believe. It's from 1966, natch. "As seen on ABC Television"

Munster Fun.

Here's a neat item I can't remember seeing before, The Munsters Sticker Fun coloring book. It has a neat cover, and what gets my attention is that the Marilyn actually looks like Pat Priest! The art on other Munster items don't often have a likeness of any of the Marilyns. This leads me to believe that this is from 1965. They're trying to catch that smart-ass raven in the cuckoo clock!

Tom Terrific!

Here's a great coloring book - Tom Terrific! with Mighty Manfred The Wonder Dog. Tom was a feature that was shown on Captain Kangaroo. Each adventure was in five segments, with the first four ending in cliffhangers. The fifth was the conclusion. Tom was a Terrytoons show (within the show).. If you are too young to remember Tom Terrific, I would encourage you to check the episodes on YouTube out. The episodes posted by OldCartoonTube are the whole adventure edited together in a 12 minutes cartoon.

Scalped!

A very strange...bar napkin? Gag card? I'm not sure, but it's unusual for sure. The young boy playing indian is running off carrying the lady's pubic hair! We know it hurt by the pain lines shown there on her Mons Venus. Had to be from the late1950s..

McWillard!

This a photo of the original Ronald McDonald. Kinda creepy, no? Under the makeup is former Today Show weatherman, Willard Scott...

Dracula's Grave And Gift Shop.

A neat little image from Aqua Teen Hunger Force via Adult Swim. Funny Stuff.

Sideshow Banners - Drugs

Fred G Johnson sideshow banners. There was some carnival / county fair shows that did the "Horrors Of Drugs" type shows which often had gruesome scenes with things like a hippie couple so high that they were eating their baby, and other such business.. These sort of faded away by the mid, to late 1970s.

Early Computer Horror

An ad for Crypt Of The Undead for a Horror themed adventure game for Atari home computers. I'd guess it was from 1980 - 82, or so. I never had this but the ad looks intriguing...

Snake Drugs.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts as the poster boy for the WWF's "Just Say No" campaign. Wowza! It does however seem that he is clean with the help of DDP's yoga program - as of this writing - I hope he can enjoy some peace.

Yes, Relax....

Who is Romark, and why did they put this goofy / creepy photo on the front of this LP.? I don't believe it's a rib by some joker!..
