Funky Fireworks Labels!

I recently ran across some fireworks labels from the past. Some are well done, some look like a family member was called on for the art...
The "Monster" was a swipe from the Moon Monster ad from comic books of the 1960s.
Batman... Not so great, but Voodoo is a winner I think.

Here's and ad for Forbidden Planet,  comics and more stores from The U.K. I saw this ad back in the late 1970s, of course I didn't know who Brian Bolland was then, but I was impressed. Cool and Creepy!

Starkly Sinister!

Hollywood Horror Teeth. The design and copy on this is mighty fine. It looks 1950s, but must be newer than that.

Hot Wheels!

I loved hot Wheels. I really did. I think a lot of the attraction was the Mattel art work. Back in the day, all toys had paintings, or drawing on the packages, and I always felt that art was way cooler than the photographs of today's toys. The Mattel artist was one of the best.  Check out these images and see what you think...

I ran across this great never-published drawing from a proposed 3rd Marvel Kiss comic magazine that never materialized. I would've loved to have seen it.

Scalped!

A very strange...bar napkin? Gag card? I'm not sure, but it's unusual for sure. The young boy playing indian is running off carrying the lady's pubic hair! We know it hurt by the pain lines shown there on her Mons Venus. Had to be from the late1950s..

Sideshow Banners - Drugs

Fred G Johnson sideshow banners. There was some carnival / county fair shows that did the "Horrors Of Drugs" type shows which often had gruesome scenes with things like a hippie couple so high that they were eating their baby, and other such business.. These sort of faded away by the mid, to late 1970s.
