Roth Decal

Here's a funky and very cool 1965 decal from Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. It's a departure from his usual hot rods and monsters style, but I think it's one of his best...

Dis-Go Drinks

I think the Non-Alcoholic Dis-Go Beer, and Near Beer are two different drinks, but I could be wrong. The Dis-Go Black Cherry Soda is just that. I know the beer-ish cans are highly sought after by collectors...

Evil Eye!

An interesting ad for Terrors Of The Evil Eye Exposed! presumably an ad from some nutty catalog from the mid-century. I'm not sure but I think we have to get it...

Monster Mobile

Make your own Monster Mobile! from For Monsters Only #6 (1969)

1970s Patch Ad

This ad used to be in comic books in the 70s, and I seem to remember it often appeared in Charlton Comics issues. I had the Flash Gordon, Sgt. Pepper, Peace Sargent, and Confederate Flag patches.. I still have the Peace Sargent patch!

Funny Face Mugs

Funny Face mug offer c.1968. I have the Lefty Lemon mug. I never collected Funny Face stuff back in the day, but now I am on the hunt. I guess I now see the stuff as part of my childhood, whereas I just took it for granted that things like this would always be there. With-It Watermelon is a goodie....

Primate Squeezin's

Gorilla Milk. "A Balanced Protein Breakfast For Swingers" From the early 1970s

Greenvile SC Ad

A great card of action from Greenville, S.C. on 03/30/1974. I can't remember when they held wrestling on Sundays there... I only saw it on Monday nights when I went. A rare Andre The Giant appearance too! One thing I didn't like - they never updated the photos on the Anderson / Greenville ads. Ole looks like a young kid here!

Early Fabulous Moolah...

This is "Slave Girl Moolah", the valet / servant of The Elephant boy way back in the 1950s. Yep, it's how Miss Lillian got her start in wrestling...

Cult Of Horror!

From Horror Monsters #7 (1963) great art from The Cult Of Horror!  I wish I could join! I will settle for this nutty art though!

I-Scream Spoons

Here are the (Universal) Monster I-Scream Spoons from the early 1960s. I got a great response when I posted different images of these on my late, lamented tumblr Crypt.. I can see why - they are mighty cool.

ABC-TV Black Friday 1966

I don't recall this, but it seems ABC aired a cartoon block on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Here is a 1966 TV Guide ad to prove it! Not a bad idea really...

ABC-TV Sundays - 1967

An ad for "Sunday is Fun Day on ABC", from 1967. I don't recall the other networks airing Sunday cartoons. Our local ABC affiliate was airing Christian shows in these time slots, although I have a memory of catching a Bullwinkle episode one day. The thing is, this would be an outstanding Saturday line up. Oh well..

The Runaways - 1978

A 1978 Runaways gig poster from a San Francisco show. In 1978 I thought me and my friend Kenny were the only Runaways fans in Georgia. It seemed that way in small town America...

Monster Old Maid Cards

These are all the images that appear on the Monster Old Maid game from Milton-Bradley (1964) It's interesting to note that the images for The Phantom Of The Opera, and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame are actually Jimmy Cagney as Lon Chaney Jr. from Man Of a Thousand Faces (1957).. A very sought-after monster kid item. Cool bat on the box too!

1975 McDonald's Calendar

1975 was a great year. For proof look no farther than this nutty McDonaldland calendar.  Everyone but The Grimace.

Monster Figure Art

Box designs from the Lincoln-International monster figures of the 70s...

1970's Shirt

A very popular Roach T-shirt iron-on from the 1970s

Tasty cover art here of Nightmare #11 (Skywald, 1973)

State Fair!

The 1963 Wisconsin State Fair would've been a good trip. The Beverly Hillbillies AND Pa, and Hoss Cartwright? Wotta show!

Erol Otus

One of my favorite artists of all time is Erol Otus. He is best known for his work in TSR, the Dungeons And Dragons / role-playing games company. Quirky like nobody's business, it seems like everything he draws is just a little mal-formed, even beautiful women. Mal-formed in a good way if that makes any sense... He did most of his TSR work from about 1978 - 1983. He should be more widely known. This piece is from the back cover of TSR's Rogue's Gallery.

X-Ray Action!

The classic X-Ray Spex ad that made so many kids pluck out their allowance money to buy. Me too. Oh well, it was fun pretending for a while..

Superhits of The Superstars (1975)

My first K-Tel 8-Track! Well, it was a two tape set, but still... 1975 is when popular music was at it's best, I think, and most of these songs were from then - a few 1974s slipped in as I recall, but no worries. I am still looking for this set on LP. It's funny how special these first tapes were. Just the magic of being 14 years old I guess.

K-Tel's Music Express LP

Music Express was the 2nd K-Tel 8-Track I ever bought. 1975, man.. I pretty much wore it out. (This is a variant record. On mine 10cc is in the circle here occupied by Gino Vanelli. Different line up. Canadian maybe?)

Melvins Roll Over

The Melvins gig poster from June 11, 2011, Boston MA.. Yep, they are big KISS fans as well, as seen in this homage to KISS'  "Rock And Roll Over" LP.

Adventures of Electro-Man

A cherished coloring book from my youth. I am lucky enough to still have it. It is as cool as it looks.

3 x 8mm...

Two of The Three Stooges 8mm film boxes - "We Want Our Mummy", and "Spooks" You could buy these from Captain Company, in the back of Warren Magazines. Famous Monsters Of Filmland, or Monster World are the magazines I saw them in...

Addams Gum Card Box

A beautiful store display box of the 1964 Addams Family Gum Cards. I wish I could say it was mine, but alas, no dice. Donruss was never the best in the gum card department, and the cards themselves are not great, but they hit a home run on the design on the box.

F.M. Mailer

Here is a rarity. The mailing envelope in which the latest issue of Famous Monsters of Filmland arrived if you were one of the lucky ducks that subscribed to F.M.! I'm not sure if they kept this design on all mailers, but why change? Let the postman know what you read!

Monsters Of The Movies

The Aurora Monsters Of The Movies series (1975) The last of their fine line of Monster kits. The glow features were usually the hands/claws, and heads. I never liked the "Snap-Together" thing, I preferred the good ol' glue 'em up types. Still, great kits.

KISS Black Light

A great Black Light KISS poster from around 1976. The black light craze was on it's way out the door by this time, put manages to sputter on until the early 1980s...

Jerry Lawler - Artist.

Jerry Lawler is a talented cartoonist / artist! Here is an example of his talent.

8mm Horror Box Art

Two of my favorite 8mm film boxes. I used to see them in the Captain Company ads in the back of Famous Monsters Of Filmland magazine. Just great artwork on these - no photos needed!

Vending Horror!

Here's a display card from a bubble gum machine from Leaf Gum. House Of Horrors. I wish I knew what the gum looked like!  I would guess this is from the early 1970s
